It was a last minute decision for us to go along but a quick web search and next thing y'know it was all booked up for the weekend.
So what did this show hold for us that left this grand impression? Lots of ideas, contacts and aspirations for starters. First thing we came across of major interest was this S15 in amongst some stock cars.
We passed by lots of trade stands such as Piper, Quaife, Mountune and others with engines and gearboxes and the like on the display (pictures will be on our Facebook) then we came cross this snail farm of turbos.
This one's intake was easily big enough to swallow a fist or medium sized rodent. That's an A4 magazine right next to it.
After this, still trying desperately to keep to our navigation plan - so we wouldn't wonder off going OOO and miss anything - we passed by some retro racers then came to the Radical stand, not Japanese but but a TrackWeapon through and through nonetheless.
Interior looked comfy, snug and functional.
Carbon roll-over bar and air intake behind your head.
And a stand with the engine and gearbox for the car above. There were a lot of engines displayed like this but this one was a work of art.
The Time Attack stand featured 2011's winner car, this Evo 9 GT. I think the runners up won just as much as some of them got to take part in the Live Action show, hooning around a big warehouse. The amplified sound was amazing! Anyway, back to the stand:
Some serious front end carbon and aero on this car + the vial stats:
We came across this familiar car on the massive Pirelli tyres stand!
JRM/Sumo Power showing off their big guns from last year. Followers of theirs will know that these guys were extremely successful last year and are moving on to even greater heights this year.
This one looked incredibly menacing. It would be a daunting sight in the rearview mirror
In case you hadn't already spotted it, we love GT3 cars at TrackWeapon. One of my favourite cars at the moment is the McLaren MP4-12C and heres the GT3 version (road version later on)
Parked up beside a C-Class Coupe DTM car. The aero kits on there compared to the road going versions always amaze me. Anyone else think the rear spoiler mount is a bit obscure compared to what's gone before?
Some more GT3 examples from Porsche on their huge stand. They also had a 918 RSR hybrid racer which you can see plenty of pictures of on the Facebook album.
As part of the Live Action Show they had...you guessed it a GT3 MP4-12C doing a night/endurance race sample.
The live show was spectacular, so much motorsport displayed in such a short space of time, hats off to the performers doing multiple shows a day for multiple days, great show!
Next up: Liam Dorans hillclimb RS200 with Monster Energy. 900bhp was the number tossed around. As far as I could see it still had the 2.1 litre turbocharged Ford engine in there.
We had some "distractions" at this stand that you can find in the full album on our Facebook.
There were lots of racing seats, harness' and apparel on display and for sale. I liked the look of these carbon fibre seats, just enough padding to keep it road useable and still held you as tight as anything for the hard corners.
SLS.
My current desktop background:
Here's some super cars from the Pistonheads stand:
Lexus F***in' Awesome.
Note the vitals on the left:
As promised, road going version of the McLaren
Noble M600 in blue carbon:
Team Japspeed doing their thing at the Live Action Show:
Subaru had a great stand, perfect mix of the things that makes them what they are: A top spec STI saloon on the left, a limited edition Cosworth hatchback model on the right and a Time Attack weapon in the middle.
Eleanor. My dream car. This is genuinely one of the cars from the Nick Cage film. It was surrounded by lots of very famous, rare and historic cars but I really didnt care.
And that left us with about an hour to zip round some more stands we missed. Then we discovered this with about 30 minutes left on the show. The place was deserted. My camera had plenty of battery left. My jaw dropped:
RWB Number 1. Didn't even know it was going to be at the show.
Note the iPhone 4.
And with that we wrapped it up and went to the airport at the highest level of impressed.

Special thanks to my buddy Andy Knox for the good times and banter!
